Water Buffalo and Moon

Juque is an ancient name of Panzhihua, Sichuan Province. The stone material from there gained its reputation after it was selected an exhibit at Panama Pacific International Exposition in 1915. There are three basic colors in this stone - purple, brown, and green. Meticulously carved by hand with a natural stone-eye designed to be the moon, this one can either be an artist or a collector's inkstone.
