Bamboo sheath baren

Baren is Eastern artist's printing press. The basic disk, about 1/8 inch thick and 4 inches in diameter, is traditionally made of a piece of wood or layers of special paper. It is then lacquered and matted with cotton cord or wrapped with silk. Covered and loop-handled by bamboo sheath, the baren fits a human hand comfortably. Rubbing it on the back of rice paper, one can apply desired pressure.
