About
Made of bamboo pulp, this paper is more often used in calligraphy. In Chinese elementary school calligraphy class, children use it for its low cost. This rice paper also attracts artists by its antique character in color.
A well-known Chinese publisher Mao Jin of the 17th century used to choose this paper for his books. Because each stack of freshly-made paper was stamped with his name on the side, this paper was called Mao's side, and is still called thus in China today.
