This is actually 1-ply paper and cannot be peeled in two like other 2-ply papers. It is classified as 2-ply paper for its unusual thickness - thicker than even 3-ply papers. The paper is originally designed for mounting. It surface is rough, and it comes with deckle edge from papermaker's mould, which is left for mounting master to trim off.
