Archives Yan Zhenqing (709 - 785) Temple of Nun Ma, 771 Ink rubbing on rice paper, Northern Song Yan won his fame by his regular script. He dismissed Jin's graceful expression and imported in handwriting a coarse populace taste which was frequently cited the highest achievement of Chinese calligraphy in Tang. His clearly demarcated strokes are easy to start with, but their overstatement is difficult to shake off later. This work was written in his mature style.
