Aimed to the practice of the masses, his script has an inherent popular interest in his simplified stroke techniques. For many centuries his script was the very first model for beginners. This inscription, recording an emperor's inspection of a royal guards unit, is his signature calligraphy. The stone stele was lost long ago and only one rubbing survived.
