The tablet was unearthed in the 16th century in well-preserved condition. The inscription is typically clerical. The characters are flat in the shape of turtle shell; the right-falling strokes were ended in the shape of swallow tail. The text recorded how general Cao Quan suppressed a peasant uprising by the end of the Han.
